Chuck Lynch, Monroe Campus Pastor
Chuck was raised Roman Catholic. He always believed in God but did not have a personal relationship with Him. All that changed in 1982 while he was designing a new sanctuary for a church in North Syracuse, N.Y.! Soon afterward God called Chuck to leave architecture: “To build PEOPLE instead of buildings.” Since then, Chuck has earned a Masters of Divinity degree, met and married his ministry and life partner, Susie (a former Pastor’s kid!). Chuck and Susie have two awesome daughters, Katie and Kristen. Before joining Crossroads, Chuck served churches in Springfield MO, Naperville IL, Lakeland FL, and Madison IN. He also taught part-time at Evangel University and Southeastern University. Chuck’s passion and purpose is to build up every person he meets to become everything that God created him or her to be!
On My iPod?
Lots of contemporary Christian worship music, some quieter instrumental stuff for time of reflection, and even some old-time Blues and a little Michael Búble! You’ll also find a Tiger Woods Golf game for some mindless distraction!
On My Time Off?
Definitely hanging out with family and friends! It doesn’t matter what we’re doing - talking, eating, watching movies, or playing card games – it’s all good! Getting outside for some golf or to go fishing is also great when possible.
On My TV?
Action movies and comedies are always great. But, I also have three women in my home so I get to “enjoy” plenty of romantic comedies and chick-flicks!
My Favorite Books?
The Bible (seriously – the more I get to know it, the more I want to know it more!) Hard to pin down others because I like to read at least 1-2 books a month. Recent good reads include: The Christian Atheist by Craig Groeschel, The Prodigal God by Timothy Keller, and When Life Is Hard by James MacDonald.
My Favorite Food
An impossible question to answer when you love good food of all kinds. (Except peas and lima beans – they’re just wrong!) Italian food, Malnati’s Pizza when in the Chicago area, Mexican, Chinese, BBQ, and even Indian food are probably the top favorites! And, of course, now I can add CHEESE to that list!
